Exagres boosts its commitment to sustainability

With a firm commitment to collections the environment and climate change mitigation, Exagres is joining the ‘Carbon footprint register of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge’.

Year after year, we are seeing our planet suffer the consequences of climate change; a phenomenon that has been damaging the environment for years and endangering our forests and seas, as well as our own health. Our actions and way of life have led to the ceaseless advance of climate change. Companies and individuals must do everything we can to reverse this dramatic situation as much as possible.

With that in mind, Exagres continues to increase and strengthen its commitment to sustainability and looking after the environment. By joining the ‘Carbon footprint register of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge’, the company seeks to harness this strong commitment to help these efforts by transparently reporting the greenhouse gas emissions stemming from its productive process, working on reducing those emissions and then demonstrating that reduction with actual data.

By assessing consumption and the emissions from the productive process of Exagres, this voluntary carbon footprint register enables a reduction to be made and an improvement plan implemented that will help minimise the environmental impact caused by the company

EXAGRES BEGINS CARBON FOOTPRINT REDUCTION PROCESS

Joining the ‘Carbon footprint register of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge’ provides Exagres with direct information on its climate change impact.

The transparency of emissions data and a commitment to improving them will define the steps taken by Exagres over the coming years, making solid progress on overall awareness about climate change

To do so, a three-stage process is being launched to provide in-depth information about activity by the company, its consumption and emission factors in order to then reduce them or offset those that cannot be avoided as much as possible:

1. CALCULO: Exagres has already started calculating your GHG emissions over a one-year period. These include both direct and indirect emissions.

2. REDUCE: The company will proceed to have its carbon footprint registered for a period of four years, thus demonstrating the reduction of emissions.

3. COMPENSO: Finally, Exagres commits to offsetting emissions that it cannot reduce or avoid in its production process. This will be done through CO2 absorption projects registered as forest reforestation or carbon purchase projects.
