Sustainable Ceramics with Exagres

The demand from consumers for environmentally friendly building materials has increased exponentially over recent months.

Sustainability has experienced a huge surge in popularity in recent months both generally and in the construction sector, which has led the industry and society at large to reconsider their relationship with the environment. The need to encourage actions with less of an impact on the planet and capable of improving environmental quality for future generations is having a direct influence on the world of architecture, where the materials used constantly interact with the environment.

CERAMIC EXTRUSION AS SYNONYMOUS WITH SUSTAINABILITY

Ceramic, and extruded ceramic in particular, is known for its chemical, mechanical and thermal strength and durability. These properties reinforce the sustainable nature of the material by giving it a long useful life, mostly or entirely removing the need for maintenance and making it good for insulation purposes. Perfectly suitable for both indoor and outdoor use - including swimming pools - and all sorts of technical and industrial flooring, extruded ceramic tiles are also the ideal material for façade cladding as they offer increased quality of life and a significant energy saving.

The constant improvements in the Exagres productive system (such as those undertaken on the heat recovery systems and the reincorporation of waste from the productive system itself into the ceramic products) combine with the long-lasting nature of extruded ceramic tiles, enabling a highly sustainable end product to be produced. With ISO 14001:2015 certification and the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its industrial paving line, Exagres offers environmentally friendly ceramic products made with the latest advancements in sustainable innovation to the construction sector.

SUSTAINABLE CERAMIC AND CUTTING-EDGE DESIGNS

The concepts of sustainability and design are not mutually exclusive. Nowadays, it is indeed possible to offer architects and designers the chance to create lasting and timeless spaces that harness the flexibility of their uses without sacrificing style or character.

At Exagres, the environment and aesthetics come together perfectly in such lines as Gresan, which is characterised by the lack of chemical products in its production process and the exclusive use of natural raw materials, the waste from which is reused.

This focus on all things natural is also reflected in the range of organic colours, those that directly connect us to the world we live in. Milán by Exagres represents the ultimate expression of this trend through its neutral cream and beige tones, perfect for creating intimate, cosy and timeless spaces. Designs with a more industrial look can also be found in this decorative range, such as Ópera, a paving material inspired by cement that enables different materials to be combined and even trends to be overlapped, enhancing the personality of any home.
