Indoor stair flooring

There are multiple options when it comes to covering floors for indoor stairs, almost as many as for flooring, as the materials used for indoor flooring also have special pieces to cover any change of plane and thus facilitate aesthetic continuity. Stair treads are the perfect option for covering stairs as they are made of porcelain stoneware, like indoor and outdoor flooring, making them very resistant, easy to maintain and highly durable indoor stair floors.

Having different sizes and shapes of stair treads can be adapted to different types of refurbishments and constructions. At Exagres we have the Straight Step 120 and the ML Step 120, which manage to integrate the indoor space with the floors for indoor stairs.

Characteristics of indoor staircase flooring

If your are seeking aesethic continuity among spaces togheter with the indoor staircase, it is imporant to consider some technical aspects.

One of the characteristics of flooring for indoor stairs is the level of slip resistance it has. Exagres porcelain stoneware steps have the maximum anti-slip level for interiors, C-1, making them a safe material to prevent slipping.

Moreover, as this is a high traffic area, it is important that the material chosen is resistant to wear and tear and will last over time.
Stains, scratches or other abrasions to which indoor stair floors may be subjected are not a problem as Exagres treads are also resistant to this type of aggression.

On the other hand, although it can be tedious to clean the staircase floor, porcelain steps have a smooth, non-porous surface, making them very easy to maintain.
